Doula Services

I am currently accepting clients in the East Valley (AZ) due in August 2014, and October-November 2014, as well as January 2015 forward.  In September I will be out of the state for a birth education conference.

Currently I am a doula in training, and therefore have low rates and am also open to bartering. If you can't afford to pay a doula, contact me and let's see what we can work out!  See pricing below:

Services:

Consultation & Birth Plan  $50  $25 for clients before January

This service allows for 2 hours of consultation to prepare for birth and post partum needs. In addition, the client will receive a birth plan written up for them to take to the hospital with them.

Mother's Blessing $100 +supplies $75 + supplies - Hosting  OR $50 $25 Consultation

Instead of the usual baby shower, a mother's blessing originates from a Navajo tradition called a Blessingway. This is a tradition that honors the journey of the mother, as opposed to giving gifts to the baby. It can be combined with the baby shower. We honor the mother by giving physical manifestations of our support to her on her journey from maiden to mother. For more information on this, please contact me.



Childbirth Education Classes (Starting March 2015) $150 $125

For certification in the Birthing From Within method, I am teaching these classes to prepare parents for their upcoming birth experiences with the BFW methods I am learning in hands on and home training. For more information, please email me.

Birth Doula $600 $540

As my client, you are entitled to 2 scheduled prenatal visits, and I am at your beckon call 24/7 beginning at
38 weeks. We will determine what your needs and desires are for your birth in the appointments, and will proceed with your plan when your labor begins. I will stay for at least 2 hours after the birth until you are settled and ready to spend time alone as a new family. Additionally, I have a backup doula available who you can meet with upon your request. I will also visit twice after you have the baby, and will provide you with a written birth story keepsake.

Clients who schedule and submit a downpayment before January are entitled to an additional 50% discount!

Post Partum Warming $200 + bind rental or purchase

This full service is available to post partum mamas after they have the baby, as I have been trained in Sacred Mother Roasting (Sacred Pregnancy). This period of time can be challenging for moms as they are getting used to their new bodies, hormones are dramatically fluctuating and they are getting acquainted with their new love, as they find their new normal. When a mama is pregnant the hormones are extremely warming and pregnant women are known for feeling hot a lot of the time. Once those hormones change after giving birth, lots of mamas are cold, and so this service focuses on helping the mom seal of the emotional and physical opening of her body and soul, while warming her.

I make mama a tea that is specific to her situation, and prepare a luxurious bath for her, where she can focus on herself in a time when she might not feel her best physically. After her bath, is treated to a warm oil rub and aromatic hot stone abdominal press. She has the option to have a ceremonial tuck in, which is a way to honor her new journey from 'maiden to mother', and her new body and the demands on it. In addition, she is warmed via moxibustion. These all aid in the warming and help her digestive functions as her body settles into its new form, and encourage contracting of the uterus to its former size.

We finish this session with a belly bind, which helps to bring the often separated muscles back into their proper place to facilitate healing, and bring her organs and body into a more familiar place for healing. Beneath the bind we put an aromatic belly firming paste that helps to tighten up the soft, loo
se skin on mama. The bind provides support for her back, and is gorgeous,

as well! I return to bind the mama 5 more times over the next 2 weeks and teach the partner or other support person to bind the mama so that she can have this support any time she needs it. She can purchase or rent a bind directly from me.
